Low-Fee Clinic
We believe in creating more accessible mental health services for community members. Our low-fee clinic offers 50-minute psychotherapy sessions at an affordable price point for Indigenous folks aged 16+.
About Our Low-Fee Clinic
At our low-fee clinic, we are committed to providing high-quality mental health care while also supporting the growth and development of our therapists-in-training. Our low-fee clinic is available for Métis, Inuit and First Nation peoples facing financial barriers, those who are students, and those without private insurance. Folks will have access to 12 sessions of therapy for $45 per session, with potential renewal depending on the caseloads of our therapists-in-training.
> Therapists-in-training
As part of their training, our student and early career practitioners will conduct therapy sessions under the supervision of experienced clinicians. This means that sessions will be observed live by a supervisor and/or recorded. This form of supervision allows therapists-in-training to gain valuable practical experience while ensuring that clients receive high-quality care. Visit our Circle of Care page to learn more about our student associates.
> Priority Populations
Indigenous Identifying Folks: We recognize the importance of culturally rooted care and aim to prioritize individuals from the Indigenous (First Nations, Métis and Inuit) community. Our practitioners are trained to provide culturally safe and wise services that respect and honour Indigenous perspectives and traditions.
> Limited Spots Available
Due to the high demand for services in the community, and the Clinic’s capacity, we have a limited number of client spots available for therapy sessions. At certain times of the year, we will post on our website and social media the biography and availability of our therapists-in-training. Once those spots have been filled, intakes will be paused until therapists-in-training have additional availability. Our typical months of intake are January and September, and may include May, however, these dates are subject to change and therapist availability. We encourage interested individuals to reach out as soon as possible to inquire about accessing support through this pathway of care by filling out the contact form below, or emailing intake@weavingwellness.ca.
> Waitlist
In the event that all of the available low-fee spots are filled, we will create a waitlist with a maximum capacity of 10 individuals. We understand the importance of timely access to mental health services and as such do not maintain a waitlist beyond 10 clients to ensure we are able to provide services to all those who are waitlisted.

Eligibility Criteria
We have specific eligibility criteria in place to ensure that our services align with the needs and capabilities of our therapists-in-training. Our low-fee clinic is available to Métis, Inuit and First Nation peoples facing financial barriers, those who are students, and those without private insurance. Here's how we determine eligibility:
> Financial Barriers
We welcome individuals who may be experiencing financial hardship or those who are unable to afford traditional therapy fees. Our clinic offers affordable sessions to ensure that cost is not a barrier to accessing mental health care.
> Students
As a training clinic, we prioritize serving the student population. Whether you're a college student facing academic stress, a graduate student navigating the challenges of higher education, or a high school student managing life transitions, our clinic is here to support you.
> Insurance
We understand that not everyone has access to insurance coverage for mental health services. Our clinic offers an alternative option for individuals who are uninsured, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to receive quality care regardless of insurance status.
> Scope of Practice
While we strive to serve a diverse range of clients, it's important to acknowledge that certain issues for therapy, or specific circumstances in life, may be beyond the scope or skill level of our therapists-in-training. Therefore, we carefully assess each potential client's needs and complexity to determine if our clinic is the appropriate setting for your care. If, upon assessment, we determine that a client's needs exceed the scope of our clinic or require expertise beyond the training level of our therapists, we will provide referrals to appropriate mental health professionals or resources in the community. Our priority is to ensure that every individual receives the most suitable and effective care for their specific circumstances.
The eligibility criteria for low-fee psychotherapy ensures we are creating an inclusive and supportive offering where we strive for safety and aspire to reduce barriers to high quality mental health care for those in need. If you meet any of these criteria and are in need of support, we encourage you to reach out to our clinic for more information.
